FPSC Jobs

Recent Results

HUNDREDS of thousands of young Pakistani people undergo a general employment (GR) survey conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) each year. The number of students who will pass the exams indicates how much our youth are eager to find employment, which is becoming more and more common day by day.

Although these numbers may not be sufficiently descriptive in national economic research, they do not do much for young people. Adding to the despair of these job seekers is the FPSC snail hiring program.

The full recruitment cycle for GR exams takes anywhere between 18 and 24 months. After taking the first test exams, candidates should wait about 6-8 months to know how to do it. This is despite the fact that candidates are paying an application fee to the FPSC.

It turns out that this permanent delay in the announcement of results is inevitable. Almost all of the tests are based on multiple choice questions (MCQs) and are thus designed to be tested with technologies that can scan and scan a large number of response pages at any one time, which greatly reduces speed.

About 50,000 students appeared in the first MCQ-based test for the 2022 Central Superior Services (CSS) exams. FPSC announced the results in just 15 days!

That is good, but it makes one wonder why the same FPSC takes up to eight months to test the GR exams and announce the results despite the very low turnout. The obvious answer is red tape bureaucratic - a long-standing feature of our institutions.

This also reflects the FPSC's stepmother's attitude towards the GR nominees, as if they were not paying their bills. This dire situation needs the attention of relevant authorities to help young people who are on the verge of despair.
