CAMBRIDGE, Mass. And COLLEGE PARK, Md., May 17, 2022 / PRNewswire / - edX, the world's leading online learning platform from 2U (Nasdaq: TWOU), and the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering - ranked 12th nationally in online engineering programs - today announced the launch of the new Master of Professional Studies (MPS) Product Management. This new degree from UMD, presented in partnership with edX, is one of the first full-time product management degrees available at an accredited non-profit college or university, and is priced at approximately $ 25,000.
Product management - named after 'America's Best Work for 2022' 10 - is a much-needed growing activity, with 24 percent growth per year in job creation and the opportunity to earn higher incomes. Following the success of its Product Management Professional Certificate program at edX, which has enrolled more than 60,000 students since its inception in May 2020, UMD decided to develop and introduce this low-cost degree program with edX.
"The details were clear: due to the lack of qualifications, many current and former UMD students are taking a course in product management work. They focus on marketing, business, or engineering, and start their careers there," said James V. Green, MPS Director of Product Management at the University of Maryland. "That, coupled with the tremendous interest we have seen in students in our Professional Certificate program at edX, made it clear that we can and should provide assistance to many senior students and companies seeking skills and training forcibly in this important business sector."
MPS Online Product Management from UMD will integrate fully online learning knowledge with award-winning skills and interaction with the UMD community. Designed for flexible professionals, apart from face-to-face needs, the system offers high quality, collaborative interactions with classmates around the world.
"I am pleased to expand our partnership with the University of Maryland with this degree program, thanks to the success of their Product Management Certificate program at edX," said Anant Agarwal, Founder of edX and Chief Executive Officer of 2U. "Not only is the development of the degree program truly market-driven, it is also brought about at a price that will make the required product management work more accessible to students around the world."
A. The James Clark School of Engineering will offer MPS in Product Management from August 2022. The program is now accepting applications, with a deadline of 29 July 2022.

We live longer than ever, and we do that with better health. So what can you do when you retire and want to keep your mind sharp or need extra skills to stay competitive at work?
For many, the answer is yes. But teaching can be very expensive.
At the same time, schools want their classrooms to be full of engaged students, no matter how many. In the interest of further education, many colleges and universities offer a reduced or free adult college (usually, adults aged 60 and over, although the rules vary).
In fact, we have found at least one option in every province.
